My short (but long) story about Zakrzewski Basses
My name is Piotr Zakrzewski and I’d like to welcome you to the world of Zakrzewski Basses.
Many years before my creations were played by bass players around the world, I went through the whole path from initial concepts, through first designs, all the way to my first build.
Throughout the 1990s, I was an active session bass player. I tried to service my instruments on my own and only in situations requiring specialized tools did I use the services of professional guitar service workshops. At the beginning of the 2000s I started servicing guitars and basses for other musicians. At the same time, I started to work on my own designs. Playing various bass guitars throughout the years, I knew what I liked about them and what bothered me. And so, in 2005, after several years of in-house trials and consulting various musicians, I came up with the first concept of my own instrument. Finally, the brand Zakrzewski Basses was brought to life.

The design features a distinct body shape with a raised top. The neck is designed in such a way that the surface of the fingerboard isn’t parallel to the surface of the body which greatly affects playing comfort. Beneath the fingerboard, inside the neck, there are carbon reinforcements with their length, thickness and placement determined according to my concept, which contributes to the ease of the neck setup. I have also designed my own bridge that completes the design and ergonomics.
Zakrzewski Basses offers four models of instruments: Essential, Exclusive, Superior and Fretless. The Artist Instruments series is based on the 4 models, customized according to the Artist’s respective wishes.
